Cabbages & Kings Literary and Visual Arts Magazine Again Wins First-Place Award in National Competition

Cabbages&Kings Literary and Visual Arts Magazine Wins First-Place Award in National Competition--Again!

Congratulations to student-organization Cabbages&Kings for again winning the First-Place Award for Cabbages&Kings Literary and Visual Arts Magazine, Issue 71 in the magazine category of the annual American Scholastic Press Association's (ASPA) national competition!

Each magazine entry is evaluated and scored on a point system, and is awarded a First-, Second- or Third Place Award in its classification. Award criteria include style, format, contents, and presentability, particularly in terms of page design, story layout, graphics, headlining, cover design, advertising placement (if any) and photography. The competition receives a tremendous number of entries for consideration, and MCC has won numerous times in the past as well, including last year.

Special thanks go to Cabbages&Kings' 2018 student officers, literary and visual art editors, production staff, committee, donors, and faculty advisors Marj Crum (VaPA) and Patrick Callan (English/Philosophy).
