Greetings of Gratitude

Bob Reynolds and Lori Judd, Curriculum Development: "We would like to thank Lori Judd and Bob Reynolds for their desire to help faculty and staff with curriculum development. Both go above and beyond to help faculty/staff make sure that every proposal is looked over and prepared to move on to the curriculum committee. They go above and beyond their duties at the college and it is greatly appreciated by EDIWS faculty/staff."

Laurie Palmer, Nursing Department Chairperson, had a few nominations. First: "Laurie has kept a calm demeanor throughout this pandemic, which we all appreciate. She has found answers for us, when possible, and maintained positive messaging. Her encouragement and clear thinking have uplifted us all in these uncertain circumstances. She cannot be thanked enough for leading us, especially right now. Thank you, Laurie!!"

And, "In those first uncertain days when we were told our nursing students could no longer go to clinical in the Hospitals and Nursing Homes, Laurie Palmer was like a rock. She reached our to Virtual Clinical vendors, arranged previews, arranged financing and assured all of our students got invitations and access.

Since then, she has been unwavering in her support as we navigate a new paradigm in clinical education. There were NYSED forms to fill out, accrediting agencies to consult with, purchase orders to be completed and faculty fears to be assuaged. Laurie did it all with grace, patience and effectiveness.

Thank you, Laurie Palmer!"

Alice Gray, MCC Upward Bound, because, "Alice has kept our students her first priority. She has stayed in touch with numerous phone calls and texts to make sure they are doing well. She also compiled a list of resources for the rest of us to give to our students as we contact them. Alice has learned so many new technologies that she would not have otherwise engaged in. Instead of complaining or getting frustrated, she has eagerly jumped onto conference calls, Zoom calls, and learned how to use Google Drive."
