Do you get lots of junk mail? - Part 2

With the new features of Outlook 2003, you can fight back with this two step process:

First turn on Cache Mode (discussed yesterday)
Second turn on the Junk E-mail option

How to turn on the Junk E-mail option:

Actually you are just raising the level of protection to screen out Junk e-mail.
Select 'Tools', 'Options', 'Junk E-mail…' (button), and change the level from Low to High.
Click OK all the way out.

Note:  This is an optional change.  Changing the level to High is described as…
High - Most junk e-mail is caught, but some regular mail may be caught as well.  Check your Junk E-mail folder often.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Now that Junk E-mail option is on, you need to flag who should NOT get through.
With each new Junk mail received, you can flag that sender.
It is recommended not to open e-mail messages from unknown sources, so right click on the e-mail and select ‘Junk E-mail’, ‘Add Sender to Block Sender List’, a message will display…
'The sender of the selected message has been added to your Blocked Senders List, and the message has been moved to the Junk E-mail folder'.
Now any e-mail messages received from this sender will be directed to your Junk E-mail folder.  You can review these messages at your convenience and delete them if they are unwanted.  You may want to verify that messages from someone you know did not get filtered out in error.
After reviewing your Junk E-mail folder, to delete all contents, right click on the folder and select 'Empty Junk E-mail Folder', and 'Yes' for permanent deletion.
Explanation of Junk E-mail:
The new Junk E-mail Filter helps prevent much of the unwanted e-mail that you receive every day. It uses state-of-the-art technology developed by Microsoft Research to evaluate whether a message should be treated as junk e-mail based on several factors, such as the time it was sent and the content of the message. The filter does not single out any particular sender or type of e-mail; it is based on the content of the message in general and uses advanced analysis of the structure of the message to determine the probability that it is junk e-mail. Any message that is caught by the filter is moved to your Junk E-mail folder, where it can be retrieved or reviewed at a later time. You can add e-mail addresses to your Safe Senders List to ensure that messages from these senders will never be treated as junk e-mail and block messages from certain e-mail addresses or domain names by adding the sender to your Blocked Senders List.
