As faculty, staff and students, we are increasingly aware of the need to learn more about the global community. In celebration of International Education Week, there will be an assortment of activities on campus for students and faculty to find out about studying overseas. Workshops are designed for student audiences, for faculty audiences, and some for both. Please join in the following (see the attached flyer for more details):
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 17 - College Hour (12 noon-12:50 PM): WORKSHOPS:
1. Bldg. 6 -325 Study Abroad Options: information for students on financial aid, transfer of credits, and more.
2. Bldg. 6-403 Fulbright Options for Faculty: why the Fulbright Program is relevant.
3. Bldg. 6-335 Volunteering Abroad: Peace Corps: personal experiences of Peace Corps members.
4. Bldg. 6-323 Living Abroad: Diverse Perspectives: what it is like to live in another country (Ireland, El Salvador, Peru).
Campus Center TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 18 – 11:00 AM-1:00 PM: SEMESTER ABROAD FAIR: representatives from other US educational institutions will provide information on their study abroad opportunities. Come or send your students.
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 19 – College Hour (12:00 noon-12:50 PM): WORKSHOPS:
1. 6-335 International Perspectives on the United States: what students from other countries experience when they study "abroad" in the United States.
2. 6-403 Study Abroad Alumni: hear from MCC students about their study abroad experiences.
3. 6-325 MCC On-Location Overseas 2003-2004: how to join the next overseas courses and trips led by MCC faculty.
4. 6-323 Leading Students Overseas: hear from MCC faculty who have led students overseas for credit courses.
