MCC employees study abroad in Italy 2020 short program

Study and Travel in Italy Short Program for 2020

One & Two Week Options

For over 12 years, MCC students have been traveling and learning in Italy while participating in the HSP225 Study Abroad Program. Many employees, retirees, and community members have inquired about this program however, they cannot commit to one month away from home or work. With you in mind, we now have available a shorter one or two-week educational program in Italy.

Similar to the student's program, you will travel for one week from Rome to Cinque Terra. Each day you will visit UNESCO World Heritage sights including the Roman Coliseum, Imperial Forum, Palatine Hill, and Vatican City. Travel will include stops to learn about the Roman gardens, Ancient Etruscan civilization, winemaking in Tuscany, marble quarries of Carrara and the beautiful Cinque Terra plus much more.

If one week of travel is not enough, consider extending your stay in Florence Italy for an additional week. Your second week will include five days of non-credit cooking, baking, and wine classes taught by the faculty from Florence University of Arts and Apicius International School of Hospitality. Accommodation, ground and air transportation, health and travel insurance, meals and admission to the art galleries, and more are included. Please contact Drew Lawrence at 585-292-2590 or alawrence@monroecc.edu if you or someone you know may have and interest. This noncredit program is for employees, and community members. Traditional degree earning students and not eligible to participate in this short program.
