Credit Abuse Resistance Education

The Health and Physical Education Department along with the Peer Mentors invite the MCC college community to take part in the “CARE" (Credit Abuse Resistance Education) Program.

On Friday October 19, 2007, at 12:00 pm, Building 8 Room 300, the  Honorable Judge John Ninfo, Federal Bankruptcy Judge, will address the pitfalls if credit card abuse.

Education is the key to ending this debt!   If you have a $1,000 balance on a credit card with 18 percent interest, and you merely pay the minimum balance every month, it could take you over 12 years to pay off this debt. And what did you buy with that $1,000 debt you racked up? CD’s? Clothes?  Think about it the next time you are tempted: do you really want to spend the next 12 years paying for a $15 CD or $40 sweater

If you have any further questions please contact Bob Wirth, senior peer mentor, at 292-2552.

Sponsored by the Health and Physical Education Department and the Peer Assistance Resource.
