CRJ & TRS Learning Comminty and PAC-TAC tour PSTF
LEARNING COMMUNITY AND PAC-TAC VISIT THE PSTF
In late October, the learning Community of Law & Criminal Justice and Transitional Studies along with PAC-TAC (Police and Citizens Against Crime) visited the PSTF (Public Safety Training Facility). This facility is nationally recognized for its excellence in training. The PSTF is part of MCC. It provides training for local and county law enforcement, jail deputies, probation, firefighters, EMS personnel and houses the Homeland Security Institute. The tour was conducted by Russ Coriddi (Program Coordinator) and Peter Burnett (Program Coordinator). The tour included parts of the Fire Training Academy, Incidents room, crime lab, as well as the K-9 training grounds. This gave the students an inside look at various careers in public safety. The CRJ and TRS Learning Community is the longest continuously running learning community at MCC and has run for over 14 years. Prof. Michael Nolan and Valerie Olivieri (CRJ Secretary) accompanied the students on their tour.
