TCC Kudos: Start the Semester by Recognizing a Colleague

"For there is always light, / if only we're brave enough to see it." [from "The Hill We Climb" by Amanda Gorman, the inaugural poet for President Biden and Vice President Harris]

It's typical in higher education for thanks, recognition, awards, accolades and the like to be conferred at the end of things: the end of a semester, the end of a year, the end of someone's years of service. In the flurry of trying to get everything else completed, those acknowledgements might be quickly forgotten.

Because it's been one heck of a year already, and you are likely still sifting through the many remnants of whatever your fall 2020 experience was, the TCC invites you to start this semester with a shout-out to a colleague.

  • Whose support over the past few months has made all the difference for you in whatever your role is?
  • Who do you credit for helping you start this new semester on more-solid footing?
  • Who has taught you something that has altered your perspective?
  • Who do you know is doing excellent work but might not get the recognition they deserve?

Use this link to submit what you feel to be a well-earned kudos for a colleague (or more than one), so that we might all find and spread some light.

Please submit by the end of this first week, Fri., Jan. 29. Recipients will be acknowledged in an announcement next week.

The TCC will solicit more kudos at the end of the semester, too, so be on the lookout for that in May.
