Domestic Violence Awareness Month at MCC

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. All the prevention & education programming for the month is listed below. We encourage you to attend yourself, offer it as extra credit, bring your class, or spread the word! Please reach out to me at strudeau3@monroecc.edu if you'd like more detail about any of the activities provided. If you would like a specific workshop provided to a class or organization, please contact me to schedule.

  • Wednesday, 10/2, from 11am - 2pm - Fresh Check Day table in Lot F
  • Monday, 10/7, from 7 - 8pm - Domestic Violence 101 presented by Willow in the Canal Hall Conference Room
  • Tuesday, 10/8, from 11am - 1pm - LawNY Sexual Assault Fellow table on the Terrace
  • Wednesday, 10/9, from 12 - 1pm - Healthy Relationships presented by Highland Family Planning in 200B Downtown
  • Tuesday, 10/15, from 11am - 1pm - Dating Violence & Social Media table on the Terrace
  • Wednesday, 10/16, from 10am - 3pm - International Pronouns Day in the Atrium
  • Tuesday, 10/22, from 11am - 1pm - Pronoun Q&A table on the Terrace
  • Thursday, 10/24 - Wear Purple Day - wear purple and post photos on Instagram tagging @LoveBetterMCC for a chance to be featured on the page
  • Monday, 10/28, from 7 - 8pm - Healthy Relationships presented by Highland Family Planning in the Canal Hall Conference Room
