You may have noticed some activity at the southern end of the Child Care Center building. Phi Theta Kappa students have partnered with the Child Care Center to create an organic garden. The Center children are working with Phi Theta Kappa (and MCC’s grounds staff) to prepare the plot, add the compost, and on Tuesday, May 26th from 3-5:00 pm children and college students will begin planting. The garden will hold a pumpkin patch, assorted vegetables and flowers which will be cared for over the summer by the children. Later in the season the children will harvest the crop to enjoy! Many thanks to Phi Theta Kappa, Dr. Tyree, Dr. Salvador, and the MCC staff who have helped to turn this dream into a reality!
