Passing of Paul Finley, Retiree

I am sad to inform the College community that Paul S. Finley, retired assistant professor in the Food, Hotel and Tourism Management Department, passed away on December 29, 2018.

Paul began working at MCC in 1967 as an instructor and assistant director of Food Services in the Food Service Department. Four years later, he was promoted to assistant professor.

Highly regarded for his teaching style, he developed teaching methodology that enhanced students' learning and the Food Service Administration program. When the new food service restaurant lab was being planned and later remodeled, he contributed to the development of its interior design and layout. Over the years, he organized and worked on many dinners and functions on campus while maintaining his teaching responsibilities.

His service to the College included supporting students as advisor of the Hospitality Club and the Food Service Club, sitting on the Food Service Scholarship Committee, and chairing the FA Membership Committee.

After 32 years of service, he retired in 1999.

Paul held an associate degree in food service from Erie County Technical Institute and studied engineering at Clarkson College.

At the time of this posting, service details were not available.
