Kindess is Contagious!

Sometimes it’s difficult to see the kindness that surrounds us each day.  We live in a world in which news and media focus on violence and unhappy stories that can weigh heavily on our hearts and minds.  These negative messages can be difficult to escape and sometimes cloud our ability to appreciate those good people who come in and out of our lives each day.  This recognition is so important because kindness is contagious!  When we see someone help another person, it gives us a good feeling, which in turn can cause us to go out and do something altruistic ourselves.

So why not focus on this concept in everyday life?  Let’s see if we can make kindness contagious in the MCC community.  Try to focus on the positive you see in the world and do something nice for someone today. It will make you feel good and will generate a positive response, creating a ripple effect in our college community. Why not write a thank you note to someone who has helped you, tell someone you love them, or buy a cup of coffee for someone whose hard work seems to go unnoticed? It doesn’t take much to show someone they are appreciated yet we sometimes fail to do so. In the words of Mother Theresa, “Kind words can be short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.”

I have attached a link to a short video which demonstrates the kindness is contagious theme.  The video is not long and I hope it inspires you to do something kind today!
