Peer Mentors to Change Focus

The Peer Mentors will be refocusing their energy towards working one-on-one with new students to address transitional issues that may be obstacles in the success of the students. Their program will emphasize important issues facing new students such as study skills, effective communication skills, financial literacy, and developing meaningful, long lasting relationships with peers and faculty members.

The Peer Mentors will slowly be transitioning away from health and wellness issues and programs. They will no longer be maintaining a food cupboard to provide food for students in need, due to a new initiative through the Counseling and Advising Center.

They will continue to assist in the recycling of ink cartridges and the collecting of cell phones to help aid the fight against domestic violence.

We look forward to working with the college community in this new capacity.
