Limited Staff Return to Key Public-facing Offices on Monday, July 12

In order to be even more accessible and responsive to students and families leading up to the official start of Fall Semester 2021 in August, MCC will gradually expand in-person services.

Our first step is to safely transition more staff back to in-person work. On Monday, July 12, designated Student Services and Administrative Services staff will return to work in person at the following offices on the Brighton Campus*:

  • Academic Advising, including Transfer, Veterans and Testing
  • Admissions
  • Athletics
  • Educational Opportunity Program
  • Financial Aid
  • First Year Experience (FYE)/Orientation/TRIB411 Information Center
  • Health Services
  • Registration and Records
  • Residential Life
  • Student Accounts
  • Student Services Vice President and Administrators Office Suite

*Information on public-facing offices located at the Applied Technologies Center and Downtown Campus will be shared soon.

MCC faculty, staff and students know how to stop the spread of COVID-19. It is important that each of us continue to be accountable for our personal health and wellness. At this time, if you are returning to in-person work in July, we ask you to do the following—regardless of your vaccination status—to protect yourself as well as our colleagues and students:

  1. Complete a COVID-19 self-assessment prior to entering campus buildings
  2. Wear a mask when sharing spaces with colleagues and students (Masks are required in all classes and labs.)
  3. Participate in pooled testing
  4. Notify Human Resources if you test positive for COVID-19
  5. Not come to campus if you are ill

These guidelines have been reviewed by the Monroe County Department of Public Health and are subject to change.

Our second step is to share our Summer/Fall Semester 2021 guidance with you. Our plan will continue to be informed by feedback received as well as evolving SUNY guidelines. When it is shared, please keep in mind that MCC guidelines may be more conservative than those of New York state and Monroe County and are subject to change. The Monroe County Department of Public Health assures that we are on the right track.

Our third step is to open more MCC doors to students on Monday, July 19. More information on this step will be shared next week. Our objective is for all MCC offices to offer in-person service options by Monday, August 2.
