In 1943, 2,400 pre-war photographs were hidden from the Nazi's and escaped destruction in a locked room at the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp. That's where Ann Weiss, a daughter of two survivors and a former Rochesterian, found them 43 years later and began her journey to identify each and every one.
Ann Weiss, author of "The Last Album: Eyes from the Ashes of Auschwitz-Birkenau," will share her remarkable story "Life from the Ashes: An Inside View" and sign books on Wedneday, March 22, 2006 at 7 pm in the Flynn Campus Center Forum (3-130).
The event is sponsored by the Holocaust Genocide Studies Project and the Brighton Campus Activities Board. It is free and open to the public.
