"Junk in my Trunk," a Presentation by Teena Fitzroy

Come, listen and welcome back Teena Fitzroy as she makes a second appearance at MCC. Her talk is called “Junk in my Trunk” and is her open and honest discussion about her personal journey as a person with a disability. She discusses being institutionalized as a child, as well as fighting for her rights throughout her academic career as fought to finish high school and graduate from SUNY Geneseo. The story is an open and heartfelt look at her life journey and the obstacles she overcame.

The focus of her discussion is to help the participant to identify key issues in communicating with students with disabilities, help us identify our own treasures and "junk in our trunk," and help us understand the key issues students with disabilities face daily.

She presented last year to a small group and she had the audience laughing and crying (sometimes at the same time), so if you have a free moment come to hear her -- it will be well worthwhile.

Join us in Brighton Campus's Warshof Conference Center, Monroe B at noon on 4/20.
