MCC and Rochester AmeriCorps Make a Difference in the Community

MCC students and Rochester AmeriCorps members continue to make an important impact on our community by volunteering throughout the community.  The AmeriCorps office would like to thank all those who came out to the Rochester City Clean Sweep last Saturday.  We had approximately 30 students, AmeriCorps members, faculty and staff working hard to beautify our City.

This upcoming Saturday, October 28, AmeriCorps members will work on two community service projects for national Make a Difference Day:

- from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Community Place of Greater Rochester, 145 Parsells Ave., where we will be cleaning and painting an old church for its future use as an afterschool tutoring center

- and with the Coalition to Prevent Lead Poisoning going door to door to pass out information on our City's lead law and how residents can protect their children from lead poisoning.  This event will run from 12-2 PM out of the Edgerton Recreation Center on 41 Backus Street.

Please contact David Pihl at 262-1563 if you are interested in getting involved:
