Competition at MCC Draws 130 High School Students, Newspaper Coverage


The April 19 edition of the Democrat and Chronicle included an article and a video about the Career and Technical Education STEM Skills Competition. Reporter Jim Goodman interviewed Bob Lasch, one of the event organizers, as well as high school students and teachers.

Winning schools in the Career & Technical Education STEM Skills Competition:

Bridge design (based on aesthetics, creativity, joint quality, and use of engineering principles):
First place -- Palmyra-Macedon High School, Team Nick & Cole
Second place -- Gates Chili High School
Third place -- Palmyra-Macedon High School, Team Nicholas

Bridge performance:
First place -- Palmyra-Macedon High School, Team No. 1
Second place -- Palmyra-Macedon High School, Team No. 2
Third place– Honeoye Central High School

Sumobot:
First place -- Orleans/Niagara BOCES, Team No. 1
Second place -- Morris Knolls High School, Team No. 4
Third place– Orleans/Niagara BOCES, Team No. 2
Fourth place -- Hilton High School, Team No. 3
