MCC's Nursing Program Named Among the State's Best Associate Degree Programs in Nursing

I am very pleased to share that MCC’s nursing program has been named among the best associate degree programs in nursing in New York state in Nursing Schools Almanac’s 2021 rankings. MCC is ranked among the top 12 on its list of over 60 public and private institutions across the state.

MCC’s overall pass rate on the NCLEX-RN licensing exam among first-time test takers over the past decade (2011-2020) was used in the Almanac’s assessment methodology. The College was cited for having a 92.2% NCLEX-RN pass rate and on average 122 students in the program graduating annually. MCC's graduates consistently perform well above state and national averages on the licensure exam. Graduates are qualified to serve in area health care facilities as registered nurses upon passing the exam.

This statewide recognition is a testament of the quality of our nursing program and our dedicated and talented faculty and staff. It is especially impressive, considering that for a period in 2020 during the pandemic, students relied on remote instruction, including one semester when they had no access to in-person clinical experiences. Despite the challenges, our faculty and staff supported our students' completion and success. Their efforts have ensured that our program maintains its standards of excellence and that our students feel fully supported. Student success is evident in our graduates’ ability to enter their new profession as knowledgeable, capable registered nurses.

Please join me in congratulating our extraordinary faculty and staff in the Nursing Department and thanking them for their tireless commitment and devotion to our students.

The full list of top-ranked associate degree programs can be found on the Nursing Schools Almanac’s website.
