Rochester AmeriCorps is Recruiting

Rochester AmeriCorps is currently recruiting 45 full-time members who are passionate about providing direct service to youth in Rochester. Members will begin service on September 8, 2014 and will complete their term on August 23, 2015. The program is focused on improving educational and behavioral outcomes of students as well as students' preparation for and prospects of success in post-secondary education. Serving in targeted city elementary and secondary schools and community-based pre-collegiate programs, members will focus on improving students' academic engagement through an array of learning opportunities that expose students to new skills and interests and help make learning relevant. Members will provide enrichment activities, tutoring, intensive student support and college and career prep services during and after school and will engage additional community volunteers to expand the reach of this initiative.

As stated by a program alumnus, "The positive impact on my life, both personally and professionally, is an experience I couldn't have gained anywhere else. Being a part of the community that is AmeriCorps . . . made me a better human being."

All applications are submitted and processed through the online system found at www.my.americorps.gov.
