Women’s Wellness Conference on March 10


Today is the last day to register for “Total Woman: Mind, Body & Spirit.” The women’s wellness conference will be hosted by Monroe Community College’s Health & Physical Education Department, in partnership with the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Rochester Alumnae Chapter, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 10 in the Warshof Conference Center, Flynn Campus Center.

The conference is designed to provide women with the practical skills needed to achieve mental, emotional, social and physical wellness. Conference workshops will cover topics such as women's health and self care, introductions to self-defense and boxing, fear, faith and forgiveness, cancer awareness, financial planning and more. Participants will also be given opportunities to meet with local health and wellness providers and win raffle and door prizes.

Paula Sheinberg, domestic violence education coordinator from Alternatives for Battered Women, and Iris Banister, executive director of Wilson Commencement Park, will speak during the conference’s general sessions.
