MCC Partners with IBERO and RochesterWorks! at Festival

For the fourth consecutive year, Monroe Community College staff, students, alumni, and community partners - IBERO and RochesterWorks! - staffed an informational booth at the Rochester Puerto Rican Festival from August 9-11, 2013. Over 350 visitors were provided information on admissions, financial aid, youth employment opportunities, training grants, and family support services.

In addition, information regarding College Readiness by grade level for high school students and “Save the Date” pennants for the MCC/IBERO Family Day hosted at Monroe Community College on October 14, 2013, were also provided. Balloons and tattoos with the MCC and IBERO logos were handed out to festival attendees and enjoyed by all! Our information was once again offered in both Spanish and English.

A special thank you goes out to Joan Moorehead for coordinating this effort. Additional acknowledgement and thanks are shared with the following MCC employees for their significant contributions:

Javier Ayala, Dean, Career and Technical Education; Joann Santos, CSTEP, Vilma Patterson, Student Services, DCC; Marisol Reyes, EOP; Emeterio Otero, Executive Dean-DCC; Ivonne Ponicsan, Student Services- DCC; Ivonne Ramos, Admissions; Melissa Santiago, Financial Aid; John Primo, ESOL/TRS; and Peer Leaders - Julissa Gonzalez, Mariah Reynolds, Paulette Hall, Deb Leach, and Justin Preedom.
