Postponement of "Scholarship Is a Conversation," an Information Literacy Event

A call for lightning talk presentations at the MCC Libraries’ information literacy event "Scholarship Is a Conversation” recently appeared in the Daily Tribune. The event will highlight frames outlined in the Association of College & Research Libraries’ new Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education from the vantage point of various academic disciplines. Although the Framework was recently approved by the ACRL Board of Directors, new conversations about its implementation and its connection to the ACRL’s Information Literacy Competency Standards for Higher Education have led us to postpone our event until the Fall 2015 semester.

We remain eager to hear what information literacy means in your respective fields and to talk about how we can all help students develop critical thinking skills to support lifelong learning. Information about the event and the new information literacy framework is available at https://libguides.monroecc.edu/SIAC. Details regarding date are forthcoming. Please contact Alice Wilson with your questions.
