Tutoring Academic Assistance Center (TAAC) Updates: Hours of Operation Fall 2017 vs Fall 2018

Fall 2017 Learning Center Hours of Operation

Brighton

Monday - Thursday - 8:00 am - 9:00 pm

Friday - 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Saturday - 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Downtown

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Wednesday - 9:00 am - 6:30 pm

Saturday - 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

  • First day of the semester - 9/5/17
  • First day of tutoring services - 9/11/17
  • In the fall of 2017 tutoring services were not provided during the week of Thanksgiving.
  • During the 2017 - 2018 academic year the downtown learning center only had extended hours one day a week. There was only one tutor available to assist students with writing until 6:30 pm on Wednesdays.
  • There was one tutor available on Saturdays from 9-2 for math.

Tutoring took place in the Academic Foundations Learning Center, Writing Center (Brighton and Downtown), Learning Center Downtown and the Applied Technologies Center.

Between 9/5/17 and 11/19/17 there were 10,142 sessions and 5,552 hours of tutoring.

We do not have any information regarding the Center for Academic Reading.

Fall 2018 TAAC Hours of Operation

Brighton

Monday - Thursday - 8:00 am - 9:00 pm

Friday - 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

Saturday - 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

Downtown

Monday - Thursday - 8:00 am - 7:00 pm

Friday - 8:00 am - 4:00 pm

  • First day of the semester - 8/27/18
  • First day of tutoring services - 8/27/18
  • Tutoring services are now provided to students during the week of Thanksgiving.
  • The Downtown TAAC now has extended hours with tutors available until 7:00 p.m.
  • Saturday tutoring services are not provided, due to the hour of the Learning Commons (the Learning Commons are closed on Saturdays).
  • The Brighton Campus hours remain the same as last year.
  • As of Friday, November 9, 2018, two Academic Coaches were assigned to offer students support in the former CAR (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 10:00 am -2:00 pm).

Tutoring is being held in the TAAC (Brighton and Downtown) and the Applied Technologies Center.

Between 8/27/18 and 11/19/18 there were 12,000 sessions and 8,000 hours of tutoring.
