Senate Feedback on Proposed Reorganization of 10/29/21

On October 29, 2021, the Senate Special Committee on Administrative Affairs (SCAA) received a reorganization proposal on behalf of Dr. Burt-Nanna. According to Senate bylaws and resolutions, SCAA gathers college-wide feedback and makes recommendations to the President and respective administrators proposing reorganizations and changes in positions Director and above.

Summarized timeline:

  • 10/29/21: Meeting with Dr. Burt-Nanna, Kristin Lowe, Dr. Pares-Kane and Becky Babcock to review proposal. Formal memo and organizational charts submitted to SCAA.
  • 11/1/21: SCAA posts the reorganization proposal in the MCC Daily Tribune and open forum announced to gather feedback on the proposal.
  • 11/9/21: Open forum is held and appropriate administrators answer questions.
  • 11/24/21: SCAA submits final recommendation report to Administration.

SCAA began to collect feedback as soon as the proposal was posted. The final report was reviewed by the Senate Executive Committee (EC) before the submission to Administration. I want to thank the SCAA committee and Dr. Burt-Nanna for their commitment to shared governance.
