Save the Date

Nationally known brain researcher Janet Zadina, by all accounts a dynamic presenter, will give a workshop from 9 to noon on June 12 in the Warshof Conference Center, Flynn Campus Center, Monroe A & B. The workshop, suitable for faculty in all departments, is titled “Using Brain Research to Enhance and Energize Instruction” and will give faculty a foundation in research and theory on language learning in the brain. Participants will engage in activities that illustrate the principles and how they can be applied in the classroom. Zadina practices what she preaches, and the workshop promises to be lively.

So save the date, and look for an RSVP notice to run in May. The first 100 faculty members to RSVP will receive a free copy of Zadina’s workbook Six Weeks to a Brain-Compatible Classroom. The sponsors of Zadina’s visit are the deans’ campus-wide Reading Committee, the Teaching & Creativity Center, and Janet Glocker, vice president for academic services. All faculty and staff are invited.
