MCC Participates in the White House Healthy Campus Challenge!

The MCC Wellness Council, Health Services, Student Life and Leadership Development, Student Government Association (SGA) and Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) have joined together to accept the White House Healthy Campus Challenge.  From November 1 to December 15, we will be working together to spread the word about Open Enrollment and opportunities to find affordable, quality healthcare coverage in the Marketplace.

Access to affordable, quality health care is critically important for young people as they reach adulthood and enter the job market. It gives them peace of mind that allows them to focus on their studies, helps them stay healthy as they join the workforce, and is vital to building a strong economy and a strong middle class.

All campuses that successfully fulfill a specific set of Open Enrollment outreach actions by December 15 will be considered a White House Healthy Campus. These campuses will be recognized with a certificate signed by the President and entered into a lottery to have a chance to be recognized for their outreach efforts during Healthy Campus Day at the White House in January!

Please share the attached flyer with a schedule of open enrollment programs and activities.   Application counselors will be on campus every day!  Would your organization like to help MCC meet the challenge?  Get involved today by contacting Julianna Frisch at <mailto:jfrish@monroecc.edu>  .

Additional opportunities to meet with an application counselor will be available Monday November 7, DCC Student Resource Fair, Sponsored by PTK and First Year Experience (FYE)  Noon – 1pm , 5th floor Atrium and Wednesday November 30, PTK Connections to Complete Student Resource Fair, 11am – 2pm, Brighton Campus Center Atrium.
