MCC to hold summer basketball camp

The MCC men’s basketball program will hold a boys and girls basketball camp this summer.  The camp will run in two different sessions - July 31 through Aug. 4 and Aug. 7 through Aug. 11 - and is open for boys and girls ages 6-14.

The camp will be held at Monroe Community College, 1000 East Henrietta Road, and will cost $165 per week or $310 for both weeks. Checks can be made payable to Tribunes Basketball Camp.

Each day will be full of activities for the campers, starting with stretching at 9 a.m. and culminating with a wrap-up at 3:45 p.m.  In between, campers will work on individual skills, break into stations, have special contests, and will play team games.  Lunch will be at 12:15.  Campers can bring their own lunch (refrigeration will not be provided) or can purchase a hot dog or slice of pizza and a drink.

The campers will have access to MCC's main gymnasium, featuring eight baskets and three full courts.  Campers will also be able to use MCC's Olympic-size swimming pool and the Human Performance Lab, complete with treadmills, stair climbers, bikes, rowers, and free weights.

All players should bring sneakers and shorts to each session.

For additional information or to request a camp application, please contact MCC head coach Jerry Burns at (585) 292-2832 or e-mail him at gburns@monroecc.edu.
