I’m trying to find the idiot responsible for stating in the “Remind Your Students To Register” article last Friday that Friday 5/12 was the last day of classes. I have NO IDEA what rock she has been living under but, as every other sane person knows, Friday 5/19 is the last day of classes. Since you are all here today and teaching, it is obvious that you were aware of the correct date. You would think that someone who works in the Registrar’s Office MIGHT know the correct last day of classes.
Now that I have your attention, let me take this opportunity to urge you, once again, now that you have the whole week to do it, to remind your students, in each of your classes THAT HAVEN’T ENDED YET, to register for the fall semester. If students plan to return in the fall, regardless of whether they feel their schedule is totally worked out, they should still register. They may drop and add to adjust their schedules throughout the summer or at the beginning of the semester. The important thing is to register for fall NOW!
So, please remind students in your classes this week and in your finals and in your summer classes that the earlier they register for fall, regardless of whether a desired class has a wait list, the better their opportunities for getting the classes and schedule they want. You are our best resource for spreading the word!
