<p><strong>About Dr. Darrell P. Wheeler, President of SUNY New Paltz</strong><br />
Dr. Darrell P. Wheeler most recently served as Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs at Iona College. Prior to that, he served as Dean of the School of Social Welfare and Vice President for Public Engagement at the University at Albany, Dean for the School of Social Work at Loyola University Chicago, and has held academic positions at Hunter College, CUNY, Columbia University, and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.</p>

<p>Dr. Wheeler has more than 30 years of research and community partnership experience in health disparities research with extensive scholarly work with local and national Black men who have sex with men (MSM) communities. Dr. Wheeler currently serves on the US Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (PACHA); is on the Executive Management Committee of the HIV Prevention Trials Network; co-chairs the HIV Prevention Trial Networks HPTN Scholars Program, which has become a model for other mentoring programs to foster career development among underrepresented minority scholars; and is on the Board of Directors for the NASW Assurance Services Incorporated.</p>

<p>Dr. Wheeler received his PhD in social work and MPH in health administration from the University of Pittsburgh, his MSW in health/mental health from Howard University, and his BA in sociology from Cornell College. He served in the United States Air Force and as an intern officer in the US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps.</p>

<p><strong>About Dr. Warren M. Hilton, President of SUNY Onondaga Community College</strong><br />
Dr. Warren Hilton has exceptional higher education experience in enrollment management, academic affairs, and student development at public and private higher education institutions. Dr. Hilton comes to OCC from Kutztown University in Pennsylvania where he is Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs. Prior to Kutztown University, Dr. Hilton was the Dean of Enrollment Management at the Community College of Philadelphia (CCP). At CCP, he oversaw admissions, financial aid, records and registration, enrollment technology, veteran&rsquo;s resources, international student services, and the welcome center.</p>

<p>He has also held administrative roles at Drexel University in Philadelphia, Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA, Johns Hopkins School of Public Health in Baltimore, Stevenson University in Stevenson, MD, and University of Maryland-College Park. In addition, he served as a faculty member in the School of Public Health and the School of Education at Drexel University. He also taught undergraduate courses at Moravian College and University of Maryland-College Park.</p>

<p>A thought leader and sought-after speaker related to student success, enrollment management, and DEI (diversity, equity, and inclusion); he has authored numerous publications; and presented at national and regional conferences. Dr. Hilton serves as a peer reviewer for the Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved, and the Journal of Career Development; and has secured multiple major grants and large donations.</p>

<p>Dr. Hilton holds a doctor of education in educational leadership and management from Drexel University, a master of arts in student affairs in higher education and a bachelor of science in computer science with a minor in economics from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, in Indiana, PA.<strong> </strong></p>

<p><strong>About Dr. Amy Kremenek, President of Tompkins Cortland Community College</strong><br />
For the last seven years Dr. Kremenek has served as Vice President of Enrollment, Development, and Communications at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse. The previous four years she was Vice President of Human Resources and External Relations at Onondaga, part of her nearly 20 years of experience in higher education. In her time at Onondaga, Kremenek was key in the implementing of four NYS Department of Education&rsquo;s Pathways in Technology Early College High Schools (P-Tech) and leading the successful launch of two early college academies with in-demand transfer degree pathways.</p>

<p>In addition to her work at Onondaga, Dr. Kremenek has been active in several service organizations, including serving as board president of the SUNY Council on University Advancement, the founding chapter president of the American Association of Women in Community Colleges, and the OCC Achieving the Dream Leadership Team. She was inducted into the SUNY Council on University Advancement Hall of Fame, received the SUNY Chancellor&rsquo;s Award for Excellence in Professional Service, and, in 2018, was recognized as the National Doctoral Scholarship Winner by the American Association of Women in Community Colleges.</p>

<p>Dr. Kremenek earned a bachelor of science from the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, a master of public administration from the Maxwell School of Public Affairs and Citizenship at Syracuse University, and a doctorate in community college policy and administration from the University of Maryland Global Campus.</p>

<p><strong>About Dr. Shahedipour-Sandvik, Senior Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation, and Economic Development</strong><br />
Dr. Shahedipour-Sandvik joined SUNY System Administration in December of 2020 as provost-in-charge. Prior to System Administration, Dr. Shahedipour-Sandvik worked at SUNY Polytechnic Institute where she was a professor and interim vice president of research and graduate studies. She will continue her faculty appointment within the nanoscale engineering college.</p>

<p>In the past 17 years, Dr. Shahedipour-Sandvik has secured over $12 million in research funding on federal, state, and industry levels, such as the National Science Foundation, Defense Advanced Research Project Agency, Army Research Office, National Aeronautics and Space Administration, Advanced Research Project Agency-Energy, the Department of Energy, the Department of Homeland Security, and the NY State research and technology agencies (NYSTAR), among others.</p>

<p>She has published over 100 peer-reviewed journal papers, serves as editor-in-chief of the Journal of Electronic Materials, and is actively advising five PhD students, having graduated 13 PhD students previously. She received her Bachelor of Science in physics from Tehran University, and a PhD in solid state physics from the University of Missouri. Prior to joining SUNY Poly, Dr. Shahedipour-Sandvik held a postdoctoral fellowship in materials science and engineering and was a research associate in electrical and computer engineering, both at Northwestern University.</p>

<p><strong>About Valerie Grey, Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Health &amp; Hospital Affairs and Chief Hospital and Healthcare Operations Officer</strong><br />
Valerie Grey was most recently the chief executive officer for New York eHealth Collaborative (NYeC). While there, she spearheaded the development and execution of the Statewide Health Information Network for New York (SHIN-NY) Strategic Plan. As part of that work, the network and data sources were expanded, and the enterprise was used in new ways to improve quality of care and reduce administrative burden.</p>

<p>Prior to joining NYeC, Ms. Grey was the executive vice president for policy for the Healthcare Association of New York State (HANYS). Over the course of an accomplished public service career, she served in the New York State Governor&rsquo;s Office as director of state operations, first deputy secretary to the Governor, and assistant secretary for health and human services as well as assistant commissioner of governmental affairs for the New York State Department of Health.</p>

<p>In addition to her executive branch experience, Ms. Grey held key executive leadership posts at the New York State Education Department, Comptroller&rsquo;s Office, and Assembly Ways and Means Committee. Ms. Grey also led New York government affairs and compliance for AmeriChoice, part of UnitedHealth Group, a health insurance company that specializes in government programs. She holds a master&rsquo;s degree in economics from the University at Albany.</p>

SUNY Announces Presidential and Senior Leadership Appointments

State University of New York announced Board of Trustee appointments for campus presidents at SUNY New Paltz, Onondaga Community College, Tompkins Cortland Community College, as well as SUNY system appointments for Senior Vice Chancellor for Research, Innovation, and Economic Development and Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Health & Hospital Affairs and Chief Hospital and Healthcare Operations Officer. The appointments followed the recommendations of SUNY Interim Chancellor Deborah F. Stanley to the Board of Trustees.
