Dr. Quintin Bullock, president of Schenectady County Community College in Schenectady, N.Y., will be the keynote speaker for MCC’s sixth annual Alice Holloway Young, Ed.D. Power of Diversity Series on Wednesday, Nov. 17, and Thursday, Nov. 18, at the Brighton and Damon City campuses. Dr. Bullock’s keynote address will include an understanding of mentoring practices that drive successful community colleges. Sponsored by MCC’s Diversity Council, the event is free and open to the college community.

Dr. Bullock has more than 15 years of experience as an administrator in higher education. He began his career in higher education at MCC as director of the Science & Technology Entry Program (STEP). From 1998-2002, he served as executive dean of the Damon City Campus. Dr. Bullock holds several degrees, including a doctorate in dental surgery, a master’s in education and a bachelor’s in pre-medicine. He has also completed post-doctoral work at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry.
Honors include being named 2010 Promising Newcomer by The Business Review (Albany, N.Y.) for contributing to the growth of the Capital Region business community.
The Alice Holloway Young, Ed.D. Power of Diversity Series recognizes the pioneering spirit and outstanding leadership of Dr. Young, a leading Rochester educator and founding trustee and board chair emerita of Monroe Community College.
