COVID-19 Update: Pooled Testing Sessions Today and Tomorrow

Thank you to the more than 600 employees who have verified with MCC Human Resources they are vaccinated against COVID-19. Your efforts are helping MCC safely offer in-person services this fall.

Employees who work in person, are unvaccinated and/or have yet to verify they are vaccinated are required to participate in weekly COVID-19 testing. Employees who voluntarily submit their vaccine verification form to Human Resources are not required to participate in weekly COVID-19 testing (Click here for more information).

Pooled Testing Schedule
COVID-19 pooled (saliva) testing sessions will be held from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. today, August 30 and 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. tomorrow, August 31 in the Flynn Campus Center; start in the Forum (3-130). (No appointment necessary.)

Please note: MCC will be closed next Monday, September 6 in observance of Labor Day. Next week’s testing schedule is below:

Monday, September 6: College Closed; No Testing Session
Tuesday, September 7: 12:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Students who engage in person (classes, activities, services) must be vaccinated by September 27, 2021. Students who are unvaccinated or have yet to verify vaccination with MCC Health Services are required to participate in weekly testing.

Last week, four positive cases of COVID-19 were identified among students through pooled testing. MCC’s on-campus COVID-19 positivity rate is 0.16% (SUNY COVID-19 Case Tracker).

Currently,

  • 6 students are isolating off campus
  • No students are isolating on campus

Monroe County continues as a high COVID-19 transmission zone, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) COVID Data Tracker. Monroe County’s positivity rate is 5.79%. MCC requires students, faculty, staff, and visitors—regardless of vaccination status—to wear masks inside college buildings until further notice.
