Channel 8 Recognizes Women in HVAC Programs

News 8 (WROC) reporter Ashley Zilka interviewed Mehgan Pradia, one of two female students recently recognized for their academic success and their pursuit of careers that are not traditional for their gender. Ashley Smith is the other MCC recipient of the Vanguard award. Both students, who are enrolled in MCC's Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning / Refrigeration certificate program, received $100 scholarships and certificates of merit.

The reporter also interviewed Applied Technologies Chair Kevin French.

The Vanguard award is coordinated by the New York State Nontraditional Employment and Training Project, a program of the University at Albany's Center for Women in Government and Civil Society. The MCC students were chosen from among 21 finalists from a total of 85 nominated secondary and postsecondary students.
