Reenah Golden: Poets as Agents of Change

Reenah Golden - writer, poet and performance artist - will be visiting Damon City Campus and helping students use the power of the spoken word to stimulate new ways of thinking.  Her solo spoken word performance will look at poetry specifically relating to social justice. Socially political poetry will be presented with commentary that deals with race, class, and gender, exploring social issues relative to our community.  Students will also have an opportunity to offer their thoughts on the topics and questions.

When/Where:                  Monday, November 1, 2010, 12-1 p.m., DCC room 4-151

Reenah Golden has taught creative writing and performance art in schools, colleges and community agencies for nearly 10 years.
