Six Things for Faculty to Know About the MCC Libraries
The MCC Libraries is here to help you and your students in your work as teachers, scholars, and learners. There is a lot to explore, but we've listed six highlights below to point you to some of our not-to-be-missed services and resources:
Liasion Librarians: Each academic department has a liaison librarian who can assist faculty with utilizing library resources and services. Find Your Librarian
Library Instruction & Classroom Visits: Librarians can teach your students how to locate reliable resources. We offer a variety of instruction for your students, from brief classroom visits to class sessions in the library. Request Library Instruction
Course Reserves: Students benefit greatly when you provide one or more copies of your course textbooks to be held on reserve for use in the library. How to Put Textbooks on Reserve
Library Databases: The MCC community has access to over 130 online databases via the MCC Libraries' website or the Library tab in MyMCC. They provide credible and scholarly resources not available for free on Google (e.g. journal articles, streaming video, etc.)! A-Z List of Databases
Online Research Guides: Librarians have created a variety of research guides that are available on our website and via the Library tab in MyMCC. We can also create a custom guide for a class or assignment to direct students to specific sources. Research Guides @ the MCC Libraries
Interlibrary Loan: Can't find what you need in the library or our databases? We can probably get it for you via interlibrary loan.
