MCC UB Participant Selected in 4-H State Leadership Team

MCC Upward Bound (UB) congratulates Noemi Lopez on her acceptance into the 4-H Ag Innovators Experience State Leadership Team. The Cornell 4-H Ag Innovators Experience is an annual interactive program that allows youth to develop their critical thinking and STEM skills by applying them to address real-world agriculture challenges. The opportunity became possible because of the continued collaboration between UB and Cornell Corporative Extension of Monroe County.

Noemi, a junior at Rochester Early College International High School, loves photography and has volunteered as a photographer at our UB Snack Attack event and Virtual Holiday Meet & Greet. She applied to the 4-H program because she is interested in making friends who share her interests in the STEM field while educating herself on the skills needed to not only succeed in college but become a “true leader” in her community.

After receiving training with other students from across New York State, Noemi will teach other teens how to make changes to improve the environment. With Noemi’s determination and growth mindset, we know that she will make an amazing 4-H State Leadership Team member. We look forward to the positive changes she will lead in our community. Way to go, Noemi!
