Enrollment Strategies Working Group - Highlights

In May, we convened an Enrollment Strategies Working Group, which meets weekly to review the current enrollment trends. The group, comprised of a cross-divisional team, reviews the current marketing and enrollment strategies to identify gaps and opportunities. Through these discussions, the team identified and supported several new initiatives. The new strategies include the following:

  • Calling project making personal phone calls to current MCC students who have not registered for fall; led by Academic Services
  • Funding for a digital retention campaign; led by MCR
  • Funding for a calling project with an outside vendor for new accepted not registered students to register them for their AR date; led by Admissions and MCR
  • Direct mail project using prepopulated applications and promoting programs that are eligible for Inspire NY scholarships; led by Admissions, MCR, and EDIWS
  • Nudge campaign as part of the CIVITAS project encouraging students to register for one more class

Additionally, we will continue our outreach efforts to new and continuing students using direct mail, email, text, call em all and social media. We also have a sub team looking at how we can better reach students who may be on the drop for non-payment list to provide them with the support and resources needed to pay their bill. Financial Aid continues to reach out to students who need assistance in completing their FAFSA or scholarship application.

Please note that these are only a few of the highlights we have been working on this summer. We will continue to provide updates weekly as we progress toward the fall start. Please feel free to call or email me directly with any questions and/or ideas to grow enrollment at MCC.
