Funding for Open Educational Resources (OER) Courses

Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching, learning, and research resources that reside in the public domain or have been released under an intellectual property license that permits repurposing by others.

Last fall, 13 faculty members took advantage of SUNY OER development funds, and joined dozens of other faculty currently teaching OER courses at MCC. If you are interested in customizing courses, as well as lowering course material costs for students, watch for more information in the coming weeks on how you can apply for the 2018-19 funding to develop courses using OER.

To learn more about open education, consider attending the 15th Annual Open Education Conference being held October 10-12, 2018 in Niagara Falls.

Check out the OPEN-NYS website for more information about SUNY OER development, or contact OER Librarian Michelle Beechey at mbeechey@monroecc.edu.
