Professional Development Series

The Student Services Spring Professional Development Series is ready to start. All of the workshops are open to every MCC employee. Please RSVP via email to Pam Rende (prende@monroecc.edu) and identify the workshop(s) you wish to attend.

I. THE DISC MODEL: A TOOL TO INCREASE EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

Attendees will discover their own DISC communication style and how to more effectively connect to others.

II: USING THE DISC LENS TO ENHANCE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Attendees will assess their professional development from the 4 DISC perspectives and determine an area to focus on for further growth.

III. RE-FOCUSING YOUR LIFE: MANAGING DISTRACTIONS AND SAVING TIME

An opportunity to reflect on the things that distract one in life, and strategies on how to minimize the distractions and become more productive.

IV. FIVE PRINCIPLES TO GOVERN YOUR PROFESSIONAL LIFE

This workshop will offer attendees an opportunity to assess their career path and contemplate on future endeavors.

V. EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION: THE BENEFITS OF STORY-TELLING

This hands-on session will provide attendees an opportunity to learn story-telling techniques and practice public speaking.

VI. CRUCIAL CONVERSATIONS: TRANSFORMING MEETINGS INTO PRODUCTIVE ENGAGEMENTS
