Instructional Development Grants Awarded


The Curriculum Office is happy to announce the recipients of this year's Instructional Development Grant stipends. They are as follows.

Jan Volland  "Pediatric Clinical Upgrade Project"
This grant is to provide funding for the development of three aspects of an upgraded pediatric clinical experience for students in NUR 214. The result of this grant will be the development of a packet, a plan, and an instrument designed to maximize the learning during this brief experience.

Pamela D. Korte "PDA Utilization in Nursing Education"
This grant will create student activities to be used in clinical laboratories which utilize PDA technology and develop student and faculty instruction manuals to educate users about the technology and the activities. Will make recommendations for the purchase of three PDAs and software for three faculty members of NUR 112.

Maryann Marino and Mary DiSano  "Development of a Scientific Forensic Course w/Laboratory for the Criminal Justice Dept."
This grant is to create a new combined biology/chemistry forensic 4-credit course. This course is needed to enhance the existing forensic course (CRJ 209 Forensic Science) by providing biological and chemical fundamentals.

James Maley     "Emergency Management Degree/Certificate Curriculum"
The Law and Criminal Justice Dept. will be partnering with the Homeland Security Management Institute to develop an emergency management degree and certificate program over the next two years. The curriculum will be modeled on the Federal Emergency Management Administration recommended curriculum.
