Clayton Jones Represents MCC, Community Colleges at National Higher Ed Government Relations Conference

Assistant to the President for Government and Community Relations Clayton Jones represented MCC at the American Association of State Colleges and Universities 2019 Higher Ed Government Relations Conference (#HEGRC19) in New Orleans. This year's conference theme, "Making the Case for Higher Education Amid Scarcity and Division," addressed the dual challenges of funding and political polarization facing higher education.

Jones led an affinity group session on community colleges and represented MCC and community colleges during a general session panel discussion on "Polling the Profession: How Do Government Relations Professionals View Their Roles Today."

The annual conference is an educational forum for professionals who foster effective governmental and community relations on behalf of public colleges and universities. This year's conference was sponsored by AASCU, the American Association of Community Colleges, the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities, and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
