Glocker to Retire

After 32 years of dedicated service to Monroe Community College, Dr. Janet J. Glocker, Vice President of Academic Services, has announced her intention to retire as of August 31, 2010. Her leadership, commitment and contributions to MCC are numerous and exemplary.

As you know, Janet has devoted the majority of her professional life to MCC. She joined the MCC family in 1976 as an adjunct and in 1978 was hired full-time as an Assistant Professor of Economics; subsequently, she earned the rank of professor. Her work in academic administration began in 1985 as Director of our Economic Education Center. From there, she served as Chair of the Business Administration/Economics Department, Interim Dean of the Computer Related Curricula and Technologies Department, Dean of the Business and Health Professions Division, Dean of the Science, Health and Business Division and then Vice President, a responsibility she embraced in 2001.

Her dedication to the quality of the college’s academic programs, the needs of faculty, and the success of our students is unequaled and is one of the primary reasons for MCC’s outstanding reputation. Janet’s intelligence, honesty, and integrity have been the hallmark of her leadership, and she leaves a legacy of excellence that benefits us all.

The remainder of this term will offer several opportunities to honor Janet’s many accomplishments, and I know you join me in wishing her the very best as she moves forward.
