Humorist Mark Russell to Entertain at Salute to Excellence

Following just on the heels of an exhilarating election race, master political pundit and humorist Mark Russell will serve as entertainer at the Monroe Community College Foundation’s 15th annual Salute to Excellence dinner, Thursday, Dec. 9 at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center.

A native of Buffalo, N.Y. Russell has earned a national reputation as a comedian. His comedy specials consistently rank high on the PBS schedule and continue to be broadcast live from Buffalo. Russell appears frequently as a guest commentator on news programs, performs regularly around the country and writes a nationally syndicated column. His reflections upon the recent election will be both entertaining and insightful.

Please join the MCC Foundation on this special evening as it presents Bausch & Lomb with this year’s Salute to Excellence award and MCC Foundation Board member Diana Lauria with its Salute to Volunteerism award. Four new members will also be inducted into the MCC Alumni Hall of Fame, including MCC Foundation Board Director and successful businessman John R. Kraus ’65; Colonel John J. Perrone, Jr. ’70, director of MCC’s Homeland Security Management Institute; Robert O. Hoffman, M.D. ’74, a pioneer in pediatric ophthalmology; and Kodak Vice President Ann S. Turner ’68.

As you may know, the MCC Foundation has arranged for specially priced tickets for the college family: $75 per person (regular price: $100). To receive the special rate, please contact the MCC Foundation at 262-1500 or identify yourself as an MCC Faculty/Staff member on your invitation’s reply card.
