ETS Technology Training: New Employee Technology Orientation Sessions!


To get ready for the new 2013-2014 academic year, the ETS Technology Training Team will be offering informational sessions on August 28 and August 29, 2013 from 1-4 pm.  All MCC employees are welcome to attend!  Please extend a special invitation to the new employees in your area to come and join us!  These sessions are designed for the new (and maybe not-so-new) MCC employee to help them get up to speed quickly with the technology available on campus.

The Library is offering a Library Essentials open house on both days between 1 - 4 pm.  Go into the main entrance of the library - 2nd Floor Computers in front of Circulation Desk.  When you think of libraries do only books come to mind? The MCC libraries offer much more than that! Come in and learn about our vast collection of print and online resources (e.g., magazines, journals, newspapers, digital video, books, e-books, etc.), course material reserve options, the liaison program, our Faculty Guide that is available 24/7, and much more! We are eager to help you and your students!  Mark McBride (the new Director of Libraries) and Alice Wilson will be facilitating these sessions.  Come and meet the new Library Director!

Classroom Technology review will take place on August 28, 2013 from 1-3 pm in Room 9-233 and August 29, 2013 from 1-4:30 pm in Room 9-233.  Come and learn how to use the equipment in many classrooms on campus!  Stop by during these times and meet our classroom technology specialists Phil Oettinger and Sean Scanlon, who will be facilitating this open house.

Software Essentials classes!  Every personal computer at MCC is loaded with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office software, and becoming proficient with this software is essential!   These sessions will review a fundamental checklist of skills necessary to get you started using Windows, the Internet, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Two sessions will be offered each day in Room 11-108 (inside the Electronic Learning Center– 1st floor Building 11).  Each day, the first session begins at 1 pm and will run until 2:30.  The second session will begin at 2:45 and run until 4:15.  Martha Kendall and Dave Ghidiu will be facilitating these sessions.

MCC Technology Resources Review classes! ** Network Accounts    **myMCC  **Banner/Banner Self Service  **M Drive  **ANGEL Course Management System   **Outlook  **Microsoft Office   **Classroom Technology   **292-TECH for Help and Support.  Come find out what these resources can mean to you in your new job at MCC.  Each provides a specific function at MCC and will play an integral part in your success on the job.  Whether you are in your office, in the classroom or at your home these resources will keep you productive.  Three sessions will be offered each day in Room 2-315 (Third floor of Library) from 1 to 1:50 pm; 2:00 to 2:50 pm and 3 to 3:50 pm.  These sessions are facilitated by Marie Gibson.

Telecommunications Review!  This session will give you the skills you will need to fully take advantage of the many features within your Cisco VoIP Telephone and the voice messaging system.  Learn to make your telephone an "information center"!  Many features of your telephone system will be covered to help you to optimize business communications, including quick tips on how to save time, money and process calls in an efficient and timely manner.  Stop by Room 9-239 between 1 and 4 pm each day.  These sessions are facilitated by Brad Roehrig.
