News from the MCC Board of Trustees Meeting

The MCC Board of Trustees held its meeting in High Falls A/B, Third Floor, at the College's Downtown Campus on Monday, December 9, 2019 and took the following actions:

  1. Accepted the Interim Financial Report as of August 31, September 30 and October 31, 2019.

  2. Authorized the purchase of items over $20,000 as listed for the month of August, September and October, 2019.

  3. Approved the Annual Financial Report to SUNY for the fiscal year ended August 31, 2019.

  4. Authorized the transfer of funds totaling $69,963.

  5. Supported the proposal that New York State change the base state aid formula allocation for each community college to be permanently set annually at 100% of the previous year or $100 increase per FTE, whichever is greater.

  6. Accepted the resignation of Dr. Anne M. Kress as President effective January 5, 2020.

  7. Approved the MCC Foundation's recommendation that the Learning Commons at the Downtown Campus be known as the Anne M. Kress Learning Commons as of December 9, 2019.

  8. Extended deep and sincere appreciation to Dr. Anne M. Kress for her many inspiring, historic and transformational contributions to MCC, her commitment to student success and high quality education, and her dedication to our community's future leaders; and further extended sincere wishes for continued success as the future president of Northern Virginia Community College.

  • Professor of Mathematics and President of the Faculty Council of Community Colleges and SUNY Trustee Christy Fogal on SUNY update;
  • Shared Governance groups (Nayda Pares-Kane for Faculty Senate; Nicole Talarico for Student Events and Governance Association); and
  • Mark Pastorella, MCC Foundation Director of Development on behalf of the Chair of the MCC Foundation Board Sergio Esteban on Foundation activities.
