Katie Ferguson Appointed Assistant Director (Chief)

I am pleased to share that Katie Ferguson has been appointed Assistant Director (Chief) for Public Safety and will begin serving the College in this role on April 11, pending approval by the Board of Trustees.  Katie has been serving Monroe Community College (MCC) since 2009, and most recently as a Campus Peace Officer Supervisor/Lieutenant providing leadership and direction to Public Safety employees.  

Katie earned a Master of Science in Management from Keuka College and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Buffalo State College. She is the Department’s Accreditation Manager, with four years’ experience on the Accreditation Team. Katie has over 10 years’ sworn supervisory experience at MCC, and has worked as a Lieutenant on all three shifts. Katie was a 2019 MCC Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) graduate, is a Title IX Investigator, and assists with the Public Safety role in MCC Commencement planning.  Katie has over 20 years sworn law enforcement experience and also worked as a Criminal Justice Instructor for Nash Community College for 10 years.

The College will mutually benefit from Katie’s extensive leadership experience since 2009 providing a safe, diverse, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for the MCC community.
