Keys Appointed as Assistant Vice President, Instructional Technologies

I am pleased to announce that Terry Keys will assume the position of assistant vice president, Instructional Technologies effective September 1.  Terry joined the MCC community in 1992 as coordinator in Academic Computing, and been serving as director of instructional technologies since 2003.  In addition, he has been an adjunct instructor since 1994 and currently holds the rank of adjunct associate professor.

Terry oversees, develops and supports the instructional technology needs for the college which support the MCC core mission of student success.  He provides leadership and direction for a variety of support functions including technology training, word processing, printing, media productions, help desk and instructional design.  Working with Academic Services, Terry implements MCC’s distance learning initiatives which have made MCC a model for online learning.

Terry has received the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Professional Services, the American Association of Community College’s ITC Award for Excellence in Distance Education, and the League’s Innovation of the Year Award.  He serves on numerous SUNY boards and professional associations, and is currently the project leader for a system-wide review of Second Life.

Please join me in congratulating Terry on this well-deserved promotion and associated new responsibilities.
