Media Coverage of MCC-RECIHS Partnership

Since Rochester Early College International High School (RECIHS) juniors and seniors have been incorporated into MCC's Downtown Campus in fall 2017, they have integrated their MCC classes with their high school schedules and accessed essential support services on campus to increase their chances of high school and college success.

This fall, 126 RECIHS students take high school classes on the college campus, approximately the same as fall 2017 enrollment. About 48% of the students are concurrently enrolled in select MCC classes based on their college readiness -- more than triple the number of RECIHS 11th- and 12th-graders concurrently enrolled in fall 2017.

The students' aim is to earn up to 24 college credits by the time they graduate from high school.

WHEC-TV, WROC-TV and WXXI News radio also interviewed students, MCC precollegiate partnerships director Shawanda Evans, and Stefan McDonald with RECIHS.

Rochester Business Journal's article is anticipated to be published later in November.
