Celebrate 100th Anniversary of Einstein with Dr. Brian Greene

Monroe Community College will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Albert Einstein's "miracle year" with Dr. Brian Greene. (The "miracle year" refers to 1905 when Einstein published three landmark papers and made subsequent advances in the field of physics.)

Tuesday, October 11th, 2005 - 7:00 pm
Wednesday, October 12, 2005 - noon*
MCC Theater, Building 4

* The Wednesday presentation at noon is open to MCC students, staff and faculty only; not open to the general public.

Dr. Greene has been a professor at Columbia University since 2003. Born in New York City, he was a child prodigy in mathematics. At the age of five, he could multiply 30-digit numbers. He received his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and went on to receive his doctorate from Oxford University, where he was a Rhodes Scholar.

Dr. Greene is also the host of the Nova series documentary, The Elegant Universe, and the author of several books including The Fabric of the Cosmos: Space, Time and the Texture of Reality. With artful metaphors and often humorous analogies, Greene succeeds in making the most sophisticated concepts in physics and cosmology accessible and entertaining to a general audience.

You don't have to be a physicist to find this stuff fascinating!
