REMINDER: Submissions are now being accepted for the 32nd Annual ENG/PHL Department Writing Contests!
Open to all currently enrolled “for credit” MCC students, awards of $150 each are being offered to first place entrants in the following areas:
· Rice Award for Best Essay: submissions must not exceed 2,000 words (NOTE: ANY outstanding personal or academic essay is welcome in this category!)
· Langlois Award for Best Short Fiction: submissions must not exceed 3,000 words
· Cloos-Susskind Award for Best Poem: submissions of a single poem must not exceed 60 lines
· McMurray Award for Best Philosophical Essay: submissions must not exceed 2,000 words
ESSAYS FROM ALL DISCIPLINES ARE WELCOME! Don’t delay – time is running out! Deadline for the competition is 4 p.m., March 3, 2003.
